Triangle Park is Shaping Up!

Sunday, September 28th, 3:00pm
Once again the residents of Austin are stepping up and taking care of their neighborhood. Families living near and around Triangle Park, a play-date favorite for kids of Tarrytown and close by neighborhoods, are taking the initiative to coordinate a park fundraiser to shape-up and improve the park.
Don’t be square! Come to Triangle Park’s benefit on Sunday, September 28th at 3pm for food, fun and celebrating! Along with a barbeque cook-off and live music, children can enjoy a special kiddie corner with face painting, sno cones, crafts, bouncy houses and a bake sale. The event is free, but raffle tickets and t-shirts will be sold, and donations will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit park improvements. The park is located at the Windsor/Margranita Crescent intersection. For questions or details, e-mail elizabeth_adams1@mac.com. To view e-vite, click here.

MOM TO MOM
This past week, Baby Scoop Austin recruited over a hundred local moms to donate new and gently used toys for the hurricane evacuees staying at the convention center. Today, with permission from the Red Cross, the “Baby Scoop Crew” delivered the toys, games, balls, and stuffed animals to the convention center “play area”.
We are so thankful for the support from Austin families. Thank you for your quick response in gathering items for the kids. Their faces lit up as the boxes and bags of toys were brought in. Also, thank you to WAYA for serving as a central drop-off location. We also recruited local children’s photographer, J. Bell, who helped with unloading toys and took pictures of the donations. The toy drive was a huge success!

YOU CAN HELP. The Central Texas Red Cross and the Capital Area Food Bank still need essentials. The following items are especially needed: peanut butter, diapers, pop-top canned meats, personal care items, granola bars, bottled water and dog food.
The nonprofits are accepting donations around the clock through Friday to prepare emergency food boxes for evacuees not in shelters. The Food Bank is located at 8201 S. Congress Avenue between William Cannon and Slaughter Lane.
