This month, Baby Scoop Austin is celebrating its one year birthday! We can’t believe our bouncing baby website is turning one! What a year is has been! Like new parents adjusting to parenthood, we have had many sleepless nights, read a lot of “how-to” books, and turned to other parents for support and advice. We want to thank our loyal readers for supporting Baby Scoop this past year. Thank you for sharing the SCOOP with other moms and making
Baby Scoop Austin the favorite online resource for expecting and new moms in Austin! Like a baby learning to walk in its first year, we have taken baby steps. Our website and newsletter are constantly evolving and developing. Baby Scoop Austin will continue to add new features and work hard to bring our readers the best up-to-date local information on all things baby, toddler, and preschool!
We want to extend a special thanks to our mom readers who have offered us their advice, suggestions, and support. Like a favorite playgroup, our readers have become our main support and social network.
Also, thank you to our local businesses that have supported us so that we can continue our mission of delivering Austin families the Weekly Scoop.
If you are new subscriber to the Weekly Scoop newsletter, don’t forget to check out our

There are several fun activities scheduled including, an ice cream eating contest, a homemade ice cream making contest, a Popsicle stick sculpture contest, and of course, a screaming contest. The event also helps raise money for local charities like the Austin Children's Shelter and the Young Women’s Alliance. Admission is free for children 12 and under and $2 for adults. (Guests pay per individaul serving of ice cream once they are in the festival.) To beat the heat and keep your ice cream from melting, go early! This may be a day you eat dessert before lunch!
