All Aboard!

Take a road trip or train ride to Burnet next weekend for the Texas Hill Country Railfair and Festival. Kids and kids-at-heart will go crazy over all the “locomotion” in this quaint historic town. Burnet is located in the Texas Hill Country about an hour west of Austin. The Hill Country Railfair is a traditional “affair” and families can travel the more authentic way to the festival by boarding the restored Hill Country Flyer steam train in Cedar Park. The excursion includes round-trip service, entrance to the festival with a three hour layover in Burnet to enjoy the festivities. The festival features a railroad memorabilia museum as well as an extensive collection of model railroad exhibits. Visitors can enjoy rides on historic rail inspection cars and displays of historic railroad equipment. Also, snack on local food while shopping craft vendors at Market Days on the courthouse square. You might even hear or catch a glimpse of the Ole Time Fiddler’s Contest downtown. Whichever way you “choo-choose” to get there, the Texas Hill Country Railfair and festival is a fun summer road trip for families to enjoy the old charm and history of the Golden Era of the Railroads. Baby Shower at the new Seton Medical Center Williamson

To kick off the opening of their new facility, Seton Medical Center Williamson is celebrating Austin moms-to-be with a baby shower. This free event gives expecting moms and new parents the chance to see the state-of-the-art facility and celebrate the arrival of their bundle of joy! Guests will be "showered" with informatin as they enjoy baby and maternity product demos, education seminars, and tour the Women’s Center. There will also be over 45 local baby-friendly businesses on site, including Baby Scoop Austin, to support expecting parents with information, ideas, and products for infants and new parents.
