A Real Trip

Phaedra Cucina, Austin mom of two, has written a children's book for that heart wrenching moment when a working mom (or dad) has to leave for the airport on a business trip while her young child is in tears, confused, and begging her not to go. "We have books on going potty, the first day of school, going to the doctor, etc., but nothing out there that helps children understand why mommy is leaving or reassures them that she's coming back." explains Phaedra. Through the voice of a child, the story explores the unbreakable bond between mother and child – even when Mom has to leave town.
Just released in November, the book is garnering sighs of relief from working moms around the country. Working Mother magazine is featuring the book as one of its "Top Picks for Children’s Books" in the Feb/March issue. Finally! A book to address one of the most guilt-ridden aspects of work...the business trip.
The book is available exclusively at www.mommytrip.com. "Free Shipping" offer ends February 23rd. The book makes a great gift for friends, co-workers, managers, or employees.

Little Red Riding Hood meets Chuck, an environmentally conscious woodsman, friend of the flowers, and eliminator of trash in the forest. He warns her of the Big Bad Wolf (who fancies himself an accomplished magician). On the way to her sick Grandmother's house with a basket of goodies, Red encounters the Wolf. Full of sneaky schemes, he will stop at nothing to score a tasty meal! Best suited for ages 3-10, the interactive play encourages children in the audience to become part of the action.
