Phaedra Cucina, Austin mom of two, has written a children's book for that heart wrenching moment when a working mom (or dad) has to leave for the airport on a business trip while her young child is in tears, confused, and begging her not to go. Little Red Riding Hood
February 14th-March 12th
An original adaptation for Scottish Rite Children's Theatre by Austin's own D.H. Thompson, this delightful version adds a few twists to the classic tale. Little Red Riding Hood meets Chuck, an environmentally conscious woodsman, friend of the flowers, and eliminator of trash in the forest. He warns her of the Big Bad Wolf (who fancies himself an accomplished magician). On the way to her sick Grandmother's house with a basket of goodies, Red encounters the Wolf. Full of sneaky schemes, he will stop at nothing to score a tasty meal! Best suited for ages 3-10, the interactive play encourages children in the audience to become part of the action.
