Saturday Night Fever

Saturday, February 7th
A hot nightclub…lit dance floor… and a DJ spinning to 70’s music? Although it might sound like sound a crazy night out, it actually is the coolest idea for kids since Raddi Jazz Playnasium (which is now closed by the way). Say goodbye to the old playdates at Raddi Jazz and hello to the newest hip and funky kids dance party. The Little Lounge Lizards created by Austin moms as a fun way for adults and kids to get together and be active, hosts dance parties for kids and their grown-ups the first Saturday of the month at one of Austin’s swanky nightclubs, Qua. Their first dance club party of 2009 is Saturday, February 7th from 1-4pm. The kids will love the live shark tank dance floor, disco lights, and funky music spun by Austin’s own, DJ Syko. Of course, parents have been known to “bust-a-move” to the mix of retro tunes, too. Clif Bars will be on hand for snacking.
Especially created for younger children (kids 10 and under welcome), Little Lounge Lizards is a great way for kids to be crazy and wild while parents mingle or join in the dancing fun. Tickets are $8 per guest or $10 at the door. You can get your tickets online at www.littleloungelizards.com . Qua is located at 213 W. 4th Street. Check out www.littleloungelizards.com for tickets, group discounts, and birthday packages littleloungelizards@gmail.com or contact 512-291-0714.

WIN TICKETS! You can win a pair of tickets to the next LLL dance club party. Just send us an e-mail to scoop@babyscoopaustin.com and put "Little Lounge Lizards" in the subject line. Two winners will be drawn randomly.

BLUE AVOCADO GIVEAWAY Thank you to all the moms who sent us great tips on going "green". There were so many, we will publish them in a future Baby Scoop newsletter. The winner of our Blue Avocado giveaway is Kori S. Her ideas are simple and easy: "Use empty plastic wipe containers to hold blocks and small toys. Mark the contents on the end and slide them into closet shoe racks for storage. Save and reuse formula scoops for sugar, flour, coffee, etc. scoops."
